Description

In 1987 a massive reform in the educational sector was introduced to address the manpower needs of the country. According to Daniel (1998) “The reforms sought to increase access to higher education institutions in Ghana and also, to diversify the curriculum to provide more especially of science, technology and vocational training….” The government of the day, the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC), set up the University Rationalization Committee (URC) to formulate a policy framework for development of tertiary education in Ghana.
